It is a tale of rags to riches where the protagonist Mr. Farhad Ali Siddiqui, laid the foundation of this glorious empire with diligence and dexterity being his only assets. He started his career in 1972 as a daily wage laborer in a Chinese company, “I Chanthim”. With his magical hands he used to make excellent furniture out of wood. 

In 1976 destiny took him to Saudi Arabia to work as a salaried employee for “Al Moajjel”. His incredible skill at creating masterpieces was almost immediately recognized by the company and in merely two months from a small laborer he became the supervisor leading a team of 300 people. There, he gained experience of managing an entire workshop right from transportation of wood to production of exquisite pieces by hand. After eleven years he returned to his country, India. With his confidence at zenith and skill polished to excellence he started working as a freelancer. During this period “Kokal and Latif” gave him challenging assignments which he successfully accomplished to their utmost satisfaction. His biggest talent was extraordinary speed and planned execution of tasks. The project either large or little used to get completed well before time along with superior quality of work. Even with two persons he created majestic pieces of art. In less than a year his hard work paid and he started his own business. With a team of only 15 people Mr. Farhad Ali designed complete furniture for the residence of Mr. K.P. Singh, the owner of DLF. Impressed by the beauty and the quality of work the king of real estate had his farm house also designed by the same team.

Mr. Farhad Ali possessed the exclusive talent of converting a small idea or vision into a concrete reality. In 1989 he came up with “Design Plus”, the company for which nothing was impossible. With time the projects and clients started getting bigger and better. The work domain expanded to designing furniture for showrooms of celebrities like Rohini Kapoor. Along with wood, metal also became an integral part of the raw material giving shape to mild steel and special wooden sofas for showrooms. 

In 1994, “Design Plus” bagged an extremely esteemed project of designing furniture for “Ishan Impex” a 6000 sq. ft. office at Nehru Place, Delhi. The milestones were further created in the form of the company's first turnkey project, “Stanley Holdings” spread in the huge area of 16000 sq ft. To add to the sweetness of this success, Mr. Fareed Anwar Siddiqui the eldest son of Mr. Farhad Ali joined “Design Plus” in the year 1995. Continuing the tale of triumph the company designed the complete showrooms of “Usha International Ltd.” all over the country.All of a sudden in 1999 fate took a turn and everything changed. The company went through an extremely bad phase for whole two years. To make matters worse, the operational expenses soared high while the labor had to sit idle with no work at all. Even in such adverse circumstances the company's founder and his son did not loose hope. Their constant efforts paved way for success in the name of “Farhad Impex”. This new chapter began with designing of the most prestigious hotels like, Country inn and suites, Jaipur, Park Plaza, Gurgaon, Taj View , Agra, Hotel Tivoli Garden and the list goes on.

Mr. Farhad Ali Siddiqui the man who made the unbelievable art believable continues to be the Chairman of the empire, but, has handed over all the responsibilities and entire hold of “Farhad Impex” to his eldest son, Fareed Anwar Siddiqui. Endowed with the same gifts of skill and honesty Mr. Fareed Anwar is diligently carrying forward the legacy of his father so that the journey of success continues…
